Richmond School

Richmond School is a medium to large primary school (years 0-6) in the heart of Richmond (Nelson) – one of New Zealand’s fastest growing towns, at the top of the South Island.

Our dedicated team strives to provide a quality education for every student. We provide the children with many opportunities to excel academically, in leadership roles and in sports.

Richmond School is well known for being a family oriented school where parents are most welcome to visit and be fully involved in the school programme. We have an open door policy and value your support.

Richmond School approached NZTEC with the opportunity to redesign its existing website and make it more useful for the parents, teachers and pupils. Working with a group from the Board of Trustees and teachers we developed the overall look and feel for the website. Over the course of a few months and with several meetings at the school the content and media was collected and the website was developed. It was built using the WordPress platform to allow office staff at school to be able to edit and add future information. The website was developed to include an events calendar for all school activities. We also included a popup message feature in order to get urgent messages out to parents in the case of an emergency. The school took the approach of creating a website that was considered the hub for school policy and guidelines. Staff, pupils and parents can find all the school information needed in one place through the easy to use interface and its ability to be viewed on all devices.

The website is a great improvement on the previous design and sets the standard for other school in the Nelson region. Thanks to Richmond School for the opportunity.
